about gina

Gina's passionate and inspirational style of teaching is a balanced fusion of informed, flow-style yoga with attention to holistic alignment, personal evolution and humor. She came to the mat from the office chair so has a keen ability to really speak to the modern-day householder yogi. She is an inspiring, empathetic teacher known for her clear and playful style of encouraging you to fearlessly navigate your edge, open your heart and boldly dive in!

"Gina Caputo loves yoga with a passion rarely seen. She is incredibly smart, sensitive, and alive with inspiration. A gifted teacher." - Max Strom

She is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT-500) through Yoga Alliance. In addition, she has teacher certifications from Shiva Rea, Max Strom and Erich Schiffmann. Her greatest learning experiences came in the traditional manner of teacher / student apprenticeships with both Shiva Rea and Max Strom to whom she offers deep, humble pranams for their trust and confidence. She gratefully continues to study with Shiva Rea, creator of Prana Flow® Yoga and is a Teacher Trainer & Teacher Mentor in Prana Flow® teacher trainings, retreats and workshops around the country and internationally.

In 2001, she was immersed in a vibrant yoga community as one of the owners of Sacred Movement Center for Yoga & Healing (now Exhale Spa) in Venice, California where gratefully served as general manager, yoga teacher, apprentice and avid student of yoga. Living in the yoga mecca that is Los Angeles also gave her the cherished opportunity to regularly participate in a broad and varied range of workshops and retreats with extraordinary teachers from around the world. Since 2004 she has been the owner of and director of education at Kansas Siddhi Yoga in the art district of Kansas City, MO.

Gina grew up as a master fort-builder in Northern California, went to Catholic school, kayaked and played badminton in Spain as a teenager and received her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the University of California at San Diego where she lived for almost 10 years. Since then she has lived in both Los Angeles and Kansas City, Missouri and both places, in their own way, have helped her recognize that embodied, creative movement and self-exploration are essential methods of conscious evolution and discovering one's limitless potential! Now, she and her husband Jeff and Shiba Inu (that's a dog) Kiddo are Airstream nomads coming your way!

Teaching yoga is Gina's greatest passion and truest joy.
